Analytics

Who we share your data with

We only share data with companies that are essential to facilitating a users engagement with our site. To speak plainly: We may or will contract a third party to facilitate our membership or email needs per se. In other words the email provider or membership contractor would need your email address, username and such to facilitate your access to restricted content or notifications. Same would go to a payment processor and so forth.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data if any you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments and/or other such queries may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Subscribers to any of our subscriptions services may be handled through a third party vendor to render those services such as, but not limited to, membership access, payment processors et al.

Your contact information

We collect only the information you provide as to send/receive or authorize you to access content provided on our sites that you requested.

Additional information

Most websites, including this one, utilizes two distinct forms of cookies:

1. The cookies most Content Management System (“CMS”) issues track information to operate the site, which includes allowing users to login and comment.

2. Third party cookies issued by third party vendors or for statistics purposes.

Among the latter, our site and others may utilize various services around the web, which issue cookies. Because we don’t work at any of those 3rd party companies, we’re not sure what they’re doing, or which cookies they’re issuing at any given point.

We may or may not be running Google Analytics service for this site at any time, therefore, it would be best to always assume that we are and govern your decisions for further use accordingly. We also employed the “anonymize IP address” feature to help be more aligned with the new GDPR rules even though we are a U.S.A. based website governed and following its stated rules and regulations.

However, Google may use cookies to track website traffic. Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site, and/or other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting the ads preference manager. (Alternatively, you can direct users to opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for interest based advertising by visiting aboutads.info.)

As to the former, this site may or will use CMS issued cookies to verify login and user ID across pages. As a part of the session ID, we keep a copy of your IP address; this is standard behavior for most CMS purposes.

That said, it’s entirely possible 3rd party cookies are keeping tabs of your time on the site (see above). Fret not, however; if you don’t want cookies to be used on our site or others, below is a guide to possibly help you do just that.

How To Disable Cookies:

Be forwarned: disabling cookies may or will render you unable to login to our website, and as such, you’ll may or will not be able to use any features of this site..

To disable cookies on your browser, the good people at All About Cookies have put together the following information:

Other Alternatives:

Many modern browsers offer “plugins”, “add-ons”, or “extensions” that will alert you to cookies, and let you choose which sites you wish to allow cookies from. While we don’t recommend any browser or plugin over another, you can find a list of popular ones here, by browser:

Email Policy:

This site collects email and other personal Contact Data at times. We may use Contact Data to send you information about our company or our products or services, or promotional material from some of our partners, or to improve our Site, or to contact you when necessary. We may use your Demographic Data to customize and tailor your experience on the Site; displaying content that we think you might be interested in and according to your preferences.

We may also use Contact Data for lead generation purpose by sending you information about products or services, or promotional material of other third party companies.

What we won’t do is intentionally sell or provide your data to others, The only reasons why we ask for information is to fulfill what is needed to facilitate either an order or sale, or access to content you requested. Nothing more. What the payment processors and others do with that information is beyond our scope. All we can recommend is to check their policies by visiting their information pages and review to your own satisfaction before proceeding with any transaction you may make on our sites.

How we protect your data

We use legitimate and secure third party payment processors (an example, but not limited to, would be Paypal®, or Stripe®, et al.) to facilitate any payments made to our sites. Therefore we do not hold, collect or even see any personal financial data. That is all between you and the payment processors.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Since we do not collect any sensitive data (e.g., financial, et cetera) if there were to be a breach of any form it would be with the third party processors that would have their own protocols in place and can be viewed on their own websites.

A Final Note:

We tried to make the above into as much plain speak as we could. However, in today’s world of the internet it is near impossible to be 100% sure about anything. Therefore all we can say with surety is this:

If for any reason you feel that we have not addressed any or all of your privacy concerns thoroughly, and to your complete satisfaction, the only thing to do would be not to use or view this website any further now or in future until those concerns are satisfied to your approval standards.

With that stated: Your using or viewing this site hereafter is de facto proof that you have accepted our privacy policy or other terms and conditions we’ve outlined.

REMEMBER: These policies, terms or conditions are subject to change, at any time, without notice. So please check back here to view them often.

Thank you.
